Kristen Ralphs, DVM

Dr. Ralphs graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Environmental Science. While in school, she began working at a veterinary clinic which inspired her to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. Ultimately, she landed at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where she obtained her degree in 2003. Post graduation she completed a Veterinary Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Minnesota. As a bonus, she also met her husband here.

Dr. Ralphs joined the Portsmouth Veterinary Clinic team in 2007. She became the Managing Veterinarian of the clinic in 2023. Her interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and feline medicine (but she’s a huge dog lover too)! She is a member of the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).

She enjoys spending time with her family – Dr. Chris Ralphs, her husband, who is a Veterinary surgeon, as well as her 2 daughters. She also enjoys hiking in the White Mountains, gardening, mountain biking, and reading.

She has a Standard Poodle named Lloyd, as well as 3 cats (all with special needs!) – Beatrice, Carl, and Juno.
